Caffe Belgiorno

OMG! If we were locals in Mt Gambier we would literally eat here weekly! Right from our greeting all the way through to our departure we were made to feel so special & welcomed! The staff were all amazing! Now the food! We ordered a dozen oysters followed by a fettuccine Amore pasta ( tomato, chorizo, prawns, baby spinach in a champagne cream sauce) & a pollo e funghi gourmet pizza! Wow! Honestly yum! Hopefully the photos do it justice because all 3 were great! So tasty, good portions, fresh…honestly could throw any positive adjective at this & it would apply! Amazing food, amazing people, just upset that it’s like 5 hours from where we live!

This is my first visit to Caffe Belgirono and all I can say is AMAZING!! We were warmly greeted by friendly staff upon entering and shown to our table. I recommend phoning to reserve your table the restaurant was quite full. Walk up bar and meal orders. An amazing cocktail list is available. Caffe Belgirono has an extensive menu on offer with all the classics and many other dishes. Every meal looked and smelled fabulous. Our meals were served to us quickly and were all beautiful and fresh and hot. The atmosphere in the restaurant was awesome. Families, couples, individuals.. all enjoying their meals. Walter works the woodfire and allowed me to take his photo. All of the staff there are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Caffe Belgirono for dining in, take away and delivery through Mount Gambiers local food delivery service Eat-Ezy. The menu has something for everyone and i cannot wait for my next visit to this magnificent local restaurant. Thank you Caffe Belgirono! 💜

Nice cheap and cheerful restaurant with reasonably good food. We had oysters and a pizza as well as desserts. All the food was quite nice and well priced. However I suggest you take tissues with you when you go to the loo. I advised the waitress that there was only half a toilet roll in one of the 3 loos. The other two were empty. Also no soap or hand towel. Floors were grubby. An hour later when I revisited them nothing had changed. No toilet paper. Given the staff aren’t taking orders at the table surely they can drop off a toilet roll?

Ordered takeaway, supreme pizza and a Schiacciata bread. This was quite possibly the best pizza I’ve had, perfect thin crust (not the half cooked dough of most pizza shops), generous ingredients cooked to perfection. Flat bread was also great alternative to standard soft garlic bread. Staff and service was on point. And cheaper than alternatives in town. Compliments to staff and management.
